Another option to report a claim is via e-mail within 24 hours of the incident (or as soon as possible):

E-mail: claims@pieinsurance.com

In the e-mail, include the following information:

  • Name of business
  • Policy Number
  • Reporting party’s contact information (name, phone, e-mail)
  • The name, phone and e-mail address of injured employee
  • Date of incident
  • Location of incident (address and/or city, state)
  • Description of incident

Reporting Responsibilities:

After an injury has occurred, the injured worker should notify the employer in writing of the injury; the written notice should include the date, time and place of injury, the nature of the injury and the name and address of the person injured.   

Employers have to report all injuries to their workers’ compensation insurance carrier or Third Party Administrator within five (5) days of the date of injury or within five (5) days of the date on which the injury was reported to the employer by the employee, whichever is later.

What is the waiting period for lost wages in Missouri:

No payment is due for the first 3 days of disability unless the disability lasts longer than 14 days, then the first 3 days will be paid retroactively. The 3 days are 3 regularly scheduled workdays. These are regularly scheduled workdays of the employer.
